Lorena has been a communications leader for more than two decades. She has expertise in reputation management, risk mitigation, media relations and corporate storytelling.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Lorena was the Associate Director of Communications at the Sauder School of Business and the Faculty of Arts at UBC. There she provided communications counsel to the Dean’s Office and led teams to support both internal and external partners. She was key in strategic planning processes, crisis communications and wrote speeches for executives across the university. Lorena is also a freelance writer with past credits in the Vancouver Sun, Toronto Star, CBC Radio and more.
Lorena holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University with the distinction as Top Student in the Sociology/Anthropology department. She has a diploma in Broadcast Communications from the BC Institute of Technology and she holds a certificate in French Studies from the Université du Québec, Chicoutimi.
She and her family live in Vancouver.
