On October 22, 2020, the New Digital Research Infrastructure Organization (NDRIO) launched our first Canadian Digital Research Infrastructure Needs Assessment process to help identify and address digital research infrastructure (DRI) and service requirements for the future. As the first consultation opportunity with our stakeholders and partners, NDRIO launched a Call for Position Papers to gather individual perspectives on current challenges accessing DRI tools, services and support; the ideal future state of DRI in Canada; and how NDRIO could achieve such a state.
In response to the incredible amount of interest that the Canadian research community has expressed for the Call for Position Papers, we have extended the submission deadline to maximize participation. The new submission deadline is December 14, 2020 at 17:00 PST. If you are unable to meet this new deadline, please contact us at [email protected] to discuss how we can accommodate your submission. In accordance with our Guiding Principles, we are committed to collaborating with you.
I would also like to inform you of our next consultation opportunity, our Call for Current Documentation. This consultation step is intended for institutions and organizations involved in the Canadian Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) ecosystem to share roadmaps, strategic plans or related position papers to inform NDRIO’s 2021-2024 Strategic Plan.
We invite you to share your Current Documentation to help ensure your organization’s key priorities and plans are reflected and incorporated into our assessment process. Your input is needed to provide an accurate, comprehensive and inclusive view of the needs of Canada’s broader DRI community.
To share your organization’s documentation, please contact us at [email protected] by December 14, 2020 at 17:00 PST. For further details on our consultation process, please visit our Canadian Digital Research Infrastructure Needs Assessment webpage.
The NDRIO team looks forward to working with you and your organization on this initiative. Should you have any questions or comments about our consultation process, please reach out to us via the email above.
Sincerely,
Nizar Ladak
CEO
